It’s safe to say that the Summer Term 2020 for Scouting in Epsom and Ewell has been like no other. However, with badges to award and the need for celebration, 2nd Ewell (Rainsters) Beaver Colony decided to organise a very special Zoom meeting.
With Karl and Judith in attendance, and family of all ages prepped for action, we proceeded to ‘award’ no less than 9 (yes, 9) Chief Scout’s Bronze Awards. Each family had a sealed envelope to open, with a certificate and badges inside.
We also re-lived some of the amazing activities that the Beavers have achieving in completing Challenge Awards. Highlights included 74km of walking a Roman road, 27 miles of cycling, planning to escape a desert island and 133 bounces on a pogo stick!
One particular activity really caught the eye – an aunt of one of our awardees has recently been unwell. Our Beaver has stepped up and helped out with a lot of jobs around the house and garden.
Cue much smiling, lots of clapping and some very excited Beavers!
