Leaders on tour as three youngsters join the Colony

Categories:

It’s been the weirdest Term anyone can remember. But that hasn’t stopped the 2nd Ewell (Rainsters) Beaver Colony from continuing to enjoy activities. Each young person has received an email each Monday evening since lockdown began, packed with fun ideas to try and badges to earn.

The summer holidays arrived, and it was time for a treat. Cue a large craft order, lots of printing and the ordering of nearly 100 badges, of all shapes and sizes. Mary and Martyn then set off to visit each and every house where our Beavers live, to dispense some joy and celebrate achievement.

The two evenings of work also included three ‘doorstep Investitures’. Some of our youngest and newest members of the Colony had only just started attending our meetings when we had to stop, and despite participating for nearly 5 months (!), had yet to formally join the Movement. All the key elements of our normal procedure were in evidence – flag, uniform, badges, bag, log book and certificate. The scarves, unfortunately, will have to wait!

Congratulations to our three newest Beavers – Joe, Joseph and Dylan!
