On Monday 9 December 2019, 2nd Ewell (Rainsters) Beaver Scout Colony welcomed the District Beaver Team and our District Commissioner for a celebration of the extraordinary achievements of one young person.
Thomas Cotter, one of the Group’s oldest Beavers, was presented with his certificate for earning the Chief Scout’s Bronze Award. However, the main event was to celebrate the awarding of all 22 Activity Badges. The turquoise sleeve was very full indeed! Added to the 6 Staged Activity Badges and, of course, the 6 Challenge Badges and the Bronze Award, plenty of sewing has been required as well!
Martyn Holloway-Neville, BSL, said
“This is an outstanding achievement and a credit to a hard-working and personable young man. In nearly 13 years of Young and Adult Leadership, I’ve never even heard of this being completed, much less seen it.
While we do some of the Activity Badges within our programme, much of the work has been completed outside of the regular weekly meetings. This commitment to Scouting is wonderful to see and I hope that he continues on this line within the older Sections in our Group”.
